The Intersex Activist Collective – OII France (formerly the Intersex and Allies Collective) (CIA-OII France) was officially launched on 8 November 2016, International Intersex Solidarity Day.

It defines itself as an LGBTIQ+, feminist, inclusive, self-organised collective operating across France.

It is a member of the International Organisation of Intersex People (OII) – Europe, and aligns itself with the Malta Declaration, an international platform of consensus demands among intersex organisations.

The CIA seeks to forge links with struggles that are particularly closely aligned with its own: trans, feminist, LGB, and the struggles of people living with illness and disability. Finally, it operates within a framework of international solidarity by maintaining strong ties with international intersex organisations and those in other countries around the world.

The CIA is launched by and for intersex people. It is open to allies offering support, but decisions will be taken exclusively by intersex people (it being understood that no one will check anyone’s medical records…).
