Last night, we went live to answer all the questions you might have about Y/CON, whether practical or about the event in general.

If you missed it, here’s a summary of the questions we were asked, and the answers!

First of all, many of the questions concerned Mingwa’s appearance at Y/CON: for the moment, we don’t have any information to share with you about the signing sessions and the appearances on stage, but we’ll tell you all about it as soon as we know more. Don’t worry, no matter how it’s done, we’ll let you know in advance. What’s more, you should know that we’ll be doing everything we can to ensure that no one is disadvantaged, and people with Cake Tickets will not be given preferential treatment over those with single tickets for Mingwa’s appearance.

Concerning visitors:

There are no plans for future editions of the show to change venue. For the time being, we’re staying at Paris Montreuil Expo!

Anyone with reduced mobility can contact the staff on hand if they need assistance. There will be a dedicated queue for PRMs at the entrance to avoid queuing.

All bulky luggage and luggage on wheels must be left in the locker room, but you can go back and forth during the day with your cloakroom ticket if you need to put your purchases in your bags and suitcases. We would also like to remind you that pushchairs and infants are strictly forbidden at the Y/CON, as the convention is forbidden to under-14s.

This year, you’ll be able to use a cosplay cloakroom and a cosplay locker, more on that soon!

Every year we try to offer you plant-based alternatives in our selection of food exhibitors. Once again this year, we’ll be providing you with all the menus of our food exhibitors in advance, so that you’re aware of the options if you have any special dietary requirements or allergies.

The various publishing houses present at the show have carte blanche when it comes to choosing the authors they wish to have on their stands. If you would like to know the list of different authors present on a stand, please contact them directly, as we do not have all the information.

About the exhibitors:

We know that many authors, artists and illustrators are disappointed not to have been included in our selection. Unfortunately, we have had to make choices due to lack of capacity in the hall. We always try to be as fair as possible, and if your application has not been accepted, it’s not because of a lack of quality. There may be many reasons, such as the maturity of the projects you submit, or the different quotas according to the genres proposed, because you’ll have a better chance of being included in the selection if you propose less represented content, even if this is by no means a fixed selection criterion.

If you’re familiar with Y/CON, you should know that we impose a few rules on our exhibitors regarding R18 content: it is imperative that you censor sensitive content such as genitalia on your stand. We would also like to remind you that buttocks and nipples (male/female) do not have to be censored. Regular checks are carried out throughout the convention, so please be vigilant.

Finally, we are offering our exhibitors “cocooning” tickets for drinks during the convention. Last year, due to logistical problems, we were unable to offer you anything other than tea and coffee. This year, we will be redoubling our efforts to offer you other drinks!

We really enjoyed answering your questions and chatting with you during this first live session. We’ll be back soon for a second live Q&A session!
