Paloma - Hugo Bardin

Actor, director, scriptwriter and drag queen, Hugo Bardin moved to Paris in 2009 to study drama at Cours Florent. He has staged a dozen shows, including La Reine Margot, which won an award in Théùtre 13’s “Young Directors” competition. A self-taught jack-of-all-trades, Hugo also writes screenplays and directs a number of audiovisual projects. His first short film, Paloma, won numerous awards in 2021.

In 2022, as his character Paloma, he took part in Drag Race France, the French version of the world’s biggest drag queen competition. He won the competition and became the first French drag queen. Since her victory, Paloma has become a spokesperson for the community and has taken on a host of artistic projects.

In 2023, she became a columnist on TMC’s Quotidien, starred in a number of series and embarked on an epic tour with her first solo show, Paloma au Plurielles, in which she plays seven wacky female characters. For the occasion, he recorded the song P.A.L.O.M.A written by Rebeka Warrior and composed by RAUMM.

Hugo Michalet

Hugo Michalet began his art studies in graphic design at the CFP Arts in Geneva, before studying comics at the École SupĂ©rieure de bande dessinĂ©e et d’illustration. He then switched to animation and began a bachelor’s degree at Gobelins. During his master’s degree in 2D Animated Cinema, he directed a short film entitled Fred. Hugo took part in the creation of a work published by GlĂ©nat: Titeuforama: 120 variations de Titeuf, a book featuring several comic book illustrators.

For the past two years, Hugo has been making a name for himself on social networks thanks to his talents as a draughtsman, digital painter and for his drawings depicting Disney and Ghibli characters in settings inspired by 17th-century paintings. He recently came to prominence for his caricatures, particularly in relation to an impostor video by Squeezie. He often posts on his networks, depicting the young queer generation with humour: portraits of those around him and icons from his imagination (actors, pop artists, drag queens, influencers, etc.).

In 2023 he collaborated on several occasions with drag queen Paloma, designing the poster for her show, Paloma au Plurielles.

Hugo Bardin and Hugo Michalet present Paloma au PluriElles, the comic strip adaptation of the show by Drag Race France’s first Queen.
