Founded in 2010 by an artist and a writer, Guilt Pleasure is a publishing project born out of a desire to offer a different take on yaoi and BL. Initially developed in the United States within a small circle of creators, the duo has gradually built an international and multilingual world, recognised for its unique identity.

Through their works, Guilt Pleasure explores darker themes and storylines that stray from the traditional conventions of BL. Complex characters, intense relationships, human psychology and desire intertwine in narratives that seek to push the boundaries of the genre.

A former Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force, Kichiku Neko turned to writing BL in 2012 and joined Guilt Pleasure, where she develops stories with dark, intense themes that are decidedly off the beaten track.

Alongside her is Jo Chen, an illustrator renowned for her cover art in the mainstream comics world, who has been devoting herself to BL manga since 2011. Together, they form the creative duo Guilt Pleasure.

Signing terms and conditions

For the signings happening in the official Y/CON space, access is by lucky draw. If you are drawn, then you are guaranteed access. The terms and conditions are:

  • The draw will be open from September 8 at 10 AM to October 16 at 4 PM;
  • The winners will be picked on October 16 in the evening;
  • Limited to one signing per person;
  • The signing will only be done on an exclusive shikishi that will be given at the convention.

Warning: To guarantee that the maximum number of people can access these moments, duplicates will be deleted. However, you can apply for either one or all the time slots depending on your availability, but you’ll only be drawn once.

The artists will also be signing at their booth:

  • All day when they are not at an intervention;
  • Subject to a minimum purchase of 20 euros.

Warning: A signing ticket is not an entrance to Y/CON 12; you must buy your ticket to access the signing.
