Boyish, les butch du Yuri
With Julia Popek & T. Pralinus
In many of its forms, yuri features characters at the height of femininity, where the masculinity of one of the partners is expressed through brown hair and trousers. However, in recent years, a ‘boyish’ masculine lesbian archetype has been rapidly gaining ground. We will explore the origins of Japanese ‘butch’ or ‘boyish’ lesbianism and its links to yuri manga, and present manga featuring this archetype. From Natsuo Mutsumi’s independent works to the meta-autobiographical manga *The Girl Who Can’t Get a Girlfriend*, and finally to titles that have entered the mainstream publishing circuit such as *She Wasn’t a Guy* and *Boita Boine*, we’ll be shining a spotlight on this rapidly expanding archetype.

Homoromance et transidentité, quelle place dans le monde éditorial aujourd’hui ?
With Aya Balbuena, Jessie/Frank, Kelig, Sasha Laguillon & Sir Thomas No More
Although trans people can be lesbian or gay, the majority of depictions of romance involving trans characters feature heterosexual relationships between a trans person and a cisgender person. In this panel discussion, the invited authors will examine this heterosexualization of trans romances in fiction, the lack of romances between trans people, and which trans people are represented in these works of fiction.
